Hi! I'm Joshua, the creator of Match Simulator.

This website was made as a hobby project in March of 2019. Since then, it has gotten a lot of interest from people all over the world. In December 2020 I found out that around 30K matches had been simulated, so I decided to take on the project again and try to make it even better.

If you like this project and want to contribute financially, that would be much appreciated! Any contribution helps me a lot and allows me to spend more time working on this project.

We can not add the FIFA Club World Cup event yet (will try to add it asap).

Yes, if you click Match settings then a dropdown will open with an option 'Lineups', set it to custom. The yellow button will turn to 'Edit line-ups', you can then select the tactics. 

In a cup it is a bit easier; you can either click the three dots next to a match to go to the lineup-editing, or click the team management button and select Arsenal, then select your tactic.

Joshua can you add a space where you can see the best players? It could be in the Teams menu. If you add it, PLS add so that you can see the best players IN your mods TOO.

My league with 100+ members is all asking for the feature to retire players! Please add it.

You can manually remove players from teams with mods. You could create a 'retired players team' in a mod and move players there if they retire.

If Joshua will add it, please note that this won't happen anytime soon. Joshua first wants to finish the beta-version, and then there will be other updates that have a higher priority.

Very good suggestion from Larsson here. To add to that, you can also create a Retired players country to prevent them from showing up in national teams.

For some reason, I can't edit lineups. Any reasons as to why?

Can you specify why you can't edit lineups? Cant you switch players? Cant you find the edit lineups button? Cant you..? Please be more specific

Would've ended in heartbreak for either of the two depending on that penalty, really cool

I suggest you add injuries to make the simulator a little more realistic. The chances should be low but they can be events coming from yellow or red card fouls.

I also feel like VAR would be cool for the people who watch matches or watch highlights, such as disallowed goals, yellows upgraded to reds, red cards being cancelled, etc.

just a question: When I play double knockout does home advantage counts for the final as well or i have to turn it off before the final?

Home advantage is turned off automatically for finals

Hello is it possible if I suggest the search function. My first suggestion is the first name of those who only have their first name initial can be searched through their first name. For example, I can search K. Kvaratskhelia even if I already search Khvicha. Love your enthusiasm, but at the moment we are working on finishing up the BETA. After that there is another whole list of ideas and features that will come first. 


To address your points:


-penalty event is planned


-winter transfers: we will work on more frequent squad pdates after BETA is finished


-rating will not change since the underlying system is built for 1-99


-new events and presets will come

Alvarez is literally a luck charm, he joined the Argentina squad in 2021 and they've won 2 Copa Americas, a finalissima, and a World Cup since. Guys, will it be possible to enter the match results, goals scored, assists, etc.? In short - the chronology of matches. That probably won't happen.
This is a message I wrote a long time ago as an 'automatic answer', it might be not 100% right anymore.



Will there be an update where you can sim a whole matchday at once? Joshua and I understand the question, but on the other side it's not a great idea. Remember that this is a hobby project from Joshua, it's not his main and most important project. So it should be financially attractive to keep on woking on Match Sim. So the ads are most important. Remember every simulation has an ad in it, so for the Premier League Joshua sells 38x10=380 ads. If you want to simulate a whole matchday/matchweek Joshua can only sell 38 ads. If he does that, well I can only say that we can't expect anything more from MatchSim since it isn't attractive enough for Joshua to work on. Will it be a Premium feature? Logically speaking, yes. !!! it would be cool if there was possibility to delete modded content (mainly players and clubs). You can remove single players and/or teams in mods. Please can you try to make this a bit more realistic. In a group of Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, Liverpool lost to West Ham (twice), Lost to Tottenham once and drew with them once, Beat Aston Villa once and drew with them once, and finished bottom of the group! Now do it 100 times and Liverpool will go through about 90% of the time. That is the power of random.
